Future Libraries Mini Forge

-
  Edinburgh, Scotland

Product Forge, in partnership with SLIC and Carnegie UK Trust are investigating how libraries reinvent themselves as digital spaces, with a focus on e-lending, maker spaces and digital inclusion. The project will culminate in a hackathon in October 2016.

The Future Libraries Mini Forge is an invite only event for the SLIC digital champions and guests from SLIC and Carnegie UK Trust to prepare for October’s event, and discover ways to engage with the participants and the resulting projects.

You’ll hear from the winner of the last Product Forge who has since launched a social enterprise with support from the Scottish Government, and meet students with a background in technology and data science.

You’ll learn how hackathon’s, jams, and similar events can help you engage with your service users and solve problems with low touch digital technology.

We’ll give you practical guidance and assistance to examine library data from library management systems, in a practical hands on environment that will emulate the experience of a Product Forge hackathon.
